The 15th edition of the Singapore Maritime Week (SMW) received strong support from the industry, attracting more than 11,000 participants over 20 industry events.

Organised for the first time as a hybrid show from 19th to 23rd April 2021, signature events were held physically at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre and livestreamed to an international audience via the dedicated SMW event platform.

The theme for SMW 2021 was "New Frontiers, Shifting Paradigms". More than 100 global speakers from government, industry and academia exchanged ideas and pushed forward key maritime issues, focusing on the areas of resilience, digitalisation, decarbonisation and talent.

"We are experiencing truly unprecedented times. It is encouraging that we are able to come together to discuss the future of shipping, through new frontiers and shifting paradigms." - Kitack Lim, Secretary-General, International Maritime Organization
"This was my first large-scale event since Covid and (it was) great to experience the smooth running of mass testing facilities." - James Wroe, Chief Operating Officer, Maersk Asia Pacific
