OPENING DAY

The Opening Day of the Singapore Maritime Week sets the stage for a week of strategic collaboration between key opinion leaders and industry captains to discuss and exchange ideas on key issues facing the maritime industry.

The Opening Day kicks off with the Singapore Maritime Week Opening Ceremony, where the Minister for Transport will deliver an opening address, followed by the signing of key MOUs aimed at promoting partnerships and innovation in the industry. 

The Maritime Dialogue between ministerial-level speakers, covering Supply Chain Resilience, Digitalisation, and Decarbonisation, offers a platform for government leaders to share their perspectives and propose ways in which States may come together to overcome common challenges and capture new opportunities. In addition to providing a State perspective on current trends and issues faced by the industry, the Opening Day will also feature an insightful conversation with Arsenio Dominguez, Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

This event will not only celebrate industry achievements but will also underline a shared commitment to collaboration, sustainability, and forward-thinking in charting the future of the maritime industry.

We conclude the opening day with the SMW 2024 Opening Reception, an exclusive evening event which will see a gathering of C-suites and senior-level attendees from the international maritime community. Participants can look forward to meaningful conversations and networking in an informal setting amongst peers from and outside of the industry at one of Singapore's most iconic landmarks. The Opening Reception is by-invite for selected guests and for full-access pass holders only.
